A Community Safety Network (CSN) is a network of CCTV/Surveillance cameras working together to serve the public trust. Due to recent advanced in networking and security systems, it is possible to connect multiple locations to a central monitoring station. It is also possible to allow selective access to any particular camera on the network. This allows residents, businesses, and other locations to participate in a Community Safety Network without compromising their privacy.

As an example, imagine a commercial business on a busy public intersection wishes to participate in a Community Safety Network put in place by the local municipal government. They are installing a 16 camera CCTV system which has two cameras facing the public square. They wish to add these two cameras to the CSN. Our CSN system can allow the CSN to allow access to only the two public road facing cameras, and exclude the rest. This allows them to participate in the CSN with the same CCTV system without compromising their other private cameras.

Their two public facing cameras can be added to the CSN which could have dozens or even hundreds of public cameras. This allows a local government or any other entity to greatly enhance public safety for a much lower cost than stand alone camera systems which will all require internet and power. The residents and business supply the internet and power, which is already present, to facilitate the Community Safety Network without the extra expense. It also allows camera coverage from areas not owned or accessible by the local municipality.

The are a variety of camera types and AI functions which can work together to enhance public safety and monitor the activity in busy or problematic areas. The CSN allows the cameras to work together across the network. A stationary wide view camera on the network can call on a nearby Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera to provide a closeup of the target in question. License plate and facial recognition and databasing are just some of the possibilities.
